Today we attended a Groupon Deal by the London Cat Village based in the heart of Shoreditch on Rivington Street.
After initially some back and forth trying to book an appointment, the day finally arrived for us to meet all the furries. Very exciting.
We were welcomed by a cat proof cloakroom filled with shoes & hand sanitiser. Once we agreed to the house rules and swapped our shoes for bare feet or sandals (which are provided) we were allowed to enter the cafe. A clean atmosphere with at least 17cats welcomed us. All very relaxed and going about their own business.
The staff were great hosts and welcomed us with a smile. With a very rustic feel coming from solid tree slab benches & coffee tables together with climbing trees for the cats it felt like a living room atmosphere. For when the cats are sleeping or grooming themselves and not giving you the attention, freshly home made sandwiches, cakes, juices & coffees are available to order. Most of the funds raised go to the upkeep and support of the cats, so having a cup of tea or coffee is mandatory.
There are lots of photo opportunities for you to take a picture of yourself and your favourite feline as long as you do not use flash photography. There is lots of opportunities to interact with the cats as toys are provided throughout the cafe. Although it does depend how interested the cats are on their willingness to interact.
If you fancy spending time with the cats and watch a movie, then Wednesday nights at the London Cat Cafe is the place to be. Please remember to check out the movie on offer and to book before you turn up. For other one off events please check their website.
We thoroughly enjoyed spending our time stroking and talking to the cats and even having little play. We highly recommend it if you have a couple of hrs to spare in London for a somewhat different experience.
