Maddy, Scoops and Rosie - a great start to the competition season

June has been a great month for my horses and I. We’ve overcome quite a few demons and have really been enjoying ourselves at different competitions.

I started off the month with Rosie in our first proper event at Moreton Morrell and oh my word she was incredible! We did an interesting dressage to say the least, but even with a few added movements from Rosie we still wowed the judge and managed a 63.5% (36.5 penalties). Then a flying clear round over a decent 80cm showjumping put us slap bang in the middle of the pile. However an inexperienced cross country around a very full up course led to an unfortunate elimination due to an accumulation of refusals. Luckily we got to finish the course and Rosie was absolutely flying! I’m very excited to go to another one day event with her on July 21st.

Scoops and I went to our first competition in a good while and he really impressed me! 8 faults in both the 80cm and the 90cm but super proud as it’s our first 90cm since our incident at nationals and the competition was at Onley which is a venue that we don’t really like.

I then went to my riding club, Misterton and District, with Rosie last weekend to do some showjumping. A silly 8 faults in the 80cm but a super speedy jump off meant we were 2nd! Then I put on my brave pants and decided to compete in our first 90cm and Rosie absolutely flew!! Another 8 faults but a small class and another speedy jump off put us in 2nd again. So pleased with Rosie as she has come on so much over the past year that I have been riding her.

Thanks to my sponsors, Pebbz, for all their support.
