To Celebrate National Dog Day - Give Them A Real Treat With Bark Bites - Healthy, Tasty and Nutritio
It's National Dog Day on Sunday 26th August and the team at Pebzz have the perfect gift for your beloved four legged friend!
Pebzz first came across the team from Bark Bites at PATS show in Sandown. Although there has been enormous growth in the dog treat market, James, Antony and Emma, the Bark Bite creators, got tired of trying to find dog treats that were all natural, and not filled with nasty bits to help colour or flavour them. So they decided there was only one way to fix this problem.......create their own!
Based near Manchester, England, they bake their treats using only human-grade, naturally sourced ingredients. And that ingredient list is wide ranging, from Aloe Vera to natural Yeast for nutrition and from Apples to Parsley for taste. And even though they don't contain ANY preservatives, they still maintain an 18 month shelf life!
The Bark Bite range is very impressive and is not just about creating a few different flavours to reward your dog. Although the range does include some rich, tasty meat-based treats, it also caters for the health requirements of your dog - joints/mobility, weight control, digestion, teeth/gums and much more. So you can select the right product to cater for your dog's individual needs whilst also rewarding them with a tasty snack.
As a relatively new product to market, currently the best way to purchase is via online stockists such as Swell Pets
Packaging and presentation
Each variety of the range comes in similar packaging of 100g, costing £3.99 at Swell Pets. On each side of the carton is clear, user-friendly advice on what the product is for, why to use it and how to use it. Plus a full description of the ingredients used. After opening, the carton is easily re-sealed for storage.
All in all, a great product so far with proffesional but friendly presentation and all the information you would need.
The Taste Test!!
I tested the treats on our in-house product tester, Junior the Jack Russel - he loves his treats but he's quite particular about them.
The main thing I noticed, but did not expect, was that the treats did not smell of dog type food at all! They smelt of normal, human biscuits, even though the contents are everything a dog should enjoy. The texture was solid but crunchy.....so they didn't crumble but were like a good biscuit.
Now you could easily argue that dogs will eat any treat...and this is true! So after the first try I did give him a choice between the Bark Bites snack and a typical meat based one. He did go for the Bark Bites one first and I could tell he really liked it.
So, in summary, I would recommend you try Bark Bites for yourself, either as a gift for a dog or with a view to making it a regular purchase to help remedy a particular health issue. Our tester loved them and I think yours will too!
