Rain stops play for Maddy and Rosie but progress for Scoops!

Unfortunately the rain halted my eventing plans with Rosie this June, but now that I have finished all of my GCSE exams, I have been preparing for my long summer ahead.

On the first Sunday of June we made a breakthrough with Scoops and finally got the clear rounds we wanted to come 5th in the 80cm and 3rd in the 90cm at Onley. The next weekend we did another two lovely rounds at Onley, this time both in the 90cm, to come 4th.

Due to the rain at the start of the month, we made the decision to not compete Rosie at the BRC Area Eventing qualifiers due to the inevitably waterlogged ground. So we decided to reroute to Onley (seems to have been a favourite this month!) to do two speedy rounds in the 80cm and 90cm for Rosie to win both of her sections!

The next weekend we headed to Solihull for Pony Club Area Showjumping, with Rosie jumping on Saturday and Scoops on Sunday. In the 80cm Rosie had an unfortunate pole in the first round but a lovely clear in the second round helped the team to 9th in very good company.

Scoops stole the show in the 90cm the next day, a silly pole in the first round where we just got a little speedy, but a storming clear in the second round helped the team to 8th!

I’m very pleased with the horses’ performances this month and I’m looking forward to Pony Club Area Eventing the first week of July and then the preparation for Trailblazers National Championships the first week of August.
