February has been a very successful month, with Scoops picking up his second national championship qualification of 2020 and Rosie finally getting back out onto the competition circuit.
The first couple of weeks of the month were dedicated to training for both of the horses and getting Scoops in particular ready for his big qualifier. Unfortunately due to some horrible weather, the BRC Winter Showjumping qualifiers were postponed, but it meant that on the 22nd February we could head indoors out of the rain at Onley for Rosie to compete for the first time since November. She flew round both courses with speedy clears to come 1st in the 70cm and 2nd in the 80cm. So happy to have her back on form and I’m looking forward to the rest of this season.
On the 23rd February Scoops and I headed to Solihull for the BRC Winter Showjumping qualifiers in the 90cm class. Scoops produced three lovely rounds, going clear in the first and second rounds, then just having a bit of a nightmare in the jump off to finish 6th individually but 1st as a team, giving us our golden ticket to the national championships in April. March will be dedicated to smoothing off the edges for me and Scoops, so we can have the best time we can at the nationals. For Rosie, we will be heading out to a few more competitions to get her fit and ready for the start of the event season.
